A sunny, warm day in April, rather than the usual cold, wet day in January, saw nine Helsby RC runners competing at the delayed 2021 Cheshire County Cross Country Championships – one of only two county championships to go ahead in 2021

Both women and men ran the same two lap 6.4km course. The Helsby RC Ladies (Susie, Hannah and Flossy) came 10th (out of 17), the Helsby RC Men (Mike, Chris, Colin and Peter) came 6th (out of 21) and the Helsby RC Male Veterans (Chris, Col, Peter and Gareth) came 4th (out of 16).
