Time Trial Races

In 2024, Helsby Running Club will be holding two Time Trial events across the summer. This offers members the opportunity to test themselves on a fast course without the pressure of a race environment. There will be a 1 Mile TT and 10K TT course laid out on two separate Wednesday night runs.

1 Mile TT

The 1 Mile course will take place on the Weaver Navigation Line located in Frodsham, just off the Swing Bridge. The start is at the far end of the road near the substation gates and runners will race to the very end of the road just before the barrier. Their is currently no course record for this route so this will be set on it’s first running! Provisional date for the Mile TT is 17th April 7pm. We would advise lift sharing where possible and parking can be found at either Mill Lane, WA6 7JA (however parking is very limited) or at Frodsham Community Centre, WA6 7QN where it is a nice 2km warm up to the meet up location. From the meeting, we will all jog together to the start ready for the start.

10K TT

The 10K time trial takes place on the millennium greenway with the starting point on the beginning of the path in Mickle Trafford. The course starts just past the fencing at the beginning of the path and then runners follow the path straight for 5K, the turning point is parallel to the car park adjacent to Total Fitness where you will head back to the starting point. Provisional date for this TT will be Wednesday 12th June at 7pm The path is open to the public so be aware of walkers, other runners and cyclists whilst taking part. Traditionally we will meet at the Sports Club to lift share to the Meadow Lea Farm Coffee Shop car park, CH2 4EH which is situated just a few minutes away from the start. Alternatively there is street parking in the village of Mickle Trafford but, please do be respectful to the residents when parking.
