Rules and prize eligibility
The rules this year are:
- For road, 5 races with the best 3 to count to be able to win your category. For trail, 3 races and best 2 to count. For fell, best 3 to be eligible for a prize.
- You must run in at least 2 races to be eligible to win a prize.
- To become overall club champion, you will need to have taken part in at least 1 race from each category, road, fell, trail, borders and XC.
- Scores will be published throughout the season and the scoring system is set to reward those that turn up so you can win category prizes without winning any races.
- 2nd claim members are advised to run in a Helsby vest for road, fell and trail races wherever possible. We may also need to be notified if you have run in a race, as sometimes it’s hard to spot from results. For borders league races it’s a must and unfortunately you won’t count in any of the XC races as you cannot race as a 2nd claim member.

parkrun challenge
As a reminder alongside the overall club Championships we have the popular parkrun Handicap series returning for 2026 with some fun exciting challenges. Handicap details have been shared via the Parkrun whatsapp group. If you haven’t done it already can you set your running club to Helsby on your parkrun accounts. This will mean your results flow to our consolidation page and makes Mike’s life a lot easier when updating the standings.
