Why does Helsby Running Club accept sponsorship from EET/ESSAR ?
Is it not a massive contradiction that whilst this fossil fuel company’s activities contribute to our worsening climate and local pollution, your club is trying to promote a healthy environment and lifestyle ?
By accepting their money, you are complicit in helping them to ‘greenwash’ their image and business practices. Surely you could run your events without their financial support ?
Hello Mark, thank you for your comment, we will discuss at the review after the event. We understand the concern whilst balancing factors allowing us to put on a cost effective event for the community. We have always prioritised fund raising for multiple local charities and community groups. Thanks again.
