Christmas activities

Saturday 18th December: Joint run with Spectrum Striders over the hills from the Ring O’Bells in Frodsham. Meet 8:45 for a 9am start if you want to do 2 laps of the hill, otherwise 10:15 for a 10:30 start for just a single lap. Convene in the pub afterwards for a social get together, a pint, some nosh and generally warm up. Julian (from Spectrum) is organising some hot food – veggie and non-veggie – for about a fiver. If you want to pre-order some food, can you let me know prior to the day? Non-runners are also welcome to come to the pub as well.

Wednesday 22nd December: Club handicap. A shortish fun run against the clock replaces the regular club run, slowest sets off first, the fastest last and if the handicapper has done their job correctly, everyone finishes together… mince pies in the club afterwards for the ‘prize giving’. Bring a small gift (value of about a fiver) to put on the table and then pick a ‘prize’ when your name is called out.

Will also incorporate the draw for the Club places in the London Marathon. To be eligible you need to have applied for next years event and been rejected (bring your rejection letter along), we also expect participation in at least 2 Border League races this year. Let me or Phil know of your interest in the draw beforehand.

Wednesday 29th December: The club should be open as usual, so the regular Wednesday club run to get some fresh air and work off a bit of the Christmas pud.

Sunday 2nd January: Envelope stuffing! With the Shell Four Villages Half Marathon almost upon us, we will have 2000 envelopes to fill with numbers and info booklets. The more help, the faster it goes. Start at 2pm in the club. If there is enough interest, we can arrange a run in the morning beforehand.

Wishing you all a Happy Christmas and an excellent New Year!

Andy
