Due to popular demand you will now find the latest standings for the 2014 Road and Fell championships on their home pages.
If you like Half Marathons you are in for a treat with the last 2 races in the road series. Firstly we have the Warrington Half on 23rd September and then to round off the series the Conwy Half on 23rd November. I did the Conwy Half a couple of years ago and can thoroughly recommend. It starts and finishes under the walls of Conwy castle and follows the coast line most of the way. Well OK there is a bit of a climb up the Great Orme but what goes up must come down and once down its flat running all the way to the finish.
Just have look at the videos on the Conwy Half website to see how scenic it is
As for the fell championship it’s only just getting going with 7 races still to go. The next one is at Shelf Moor on 7th September.
If you still haven’t tried the Fells yet you really should. If you fancy an easier one to start try the King John’s Castle on 20th September. This is a fairly local race just over the Welsh Border and is very runnable though the last 20m up a near vertical slope makes the sprint finish interesting.
