An apology to the users of the Park and Ride

2008 was the second time that we used the Park and Ride system to relieve traffic in Helsby Village and the organisers are still learning how to do it for the best.

Unfortunately, the coach we were using broke down at 12.00 and by the time a replacement arrived, the number of people waiting was too great to make up for lost time. Consequently many tired, wet and cold runners had to wait for too long or walk to the M56 services. This was equally unacceptable to us as organisers as it was for those involved and we apologise sincerely for that.

We are looking at a number of further measures we can take to improve this service for next year. Due to recent developments in Helsby village during the past few years, the amount of parking in and around the club has reduced substantially and we are committed to developing the Park and Ride service for the race.

We thank all of you who used the Park and Ride this year and apologise for any inconvenience you incurred due to circumstances beyond our control.
