Race

29^th four villages half marathon – Sunday 17^th January 2010

Course

A scenic road race through rural countryside, passing through the Cheshire villages of Dunham on the Hill, Mouldsworth, Manley and Helsby. Accurately measured, 170m of climbing.

Male 1:04:36 (Carl Warren)   Female 1:13:08 (Marianne Sutton). Both 2002.

Race

Half Marathon Under UK Athletic rules, starting and finishing in Helsby, Cheshire. Minimum age 17 on race day. UKA license: 2009-100271

Location

Helsby Community Sports Centre, 300 metre walk to the start line
Start time – 11:00am. Finishes at Hornsmill Primary School (300m walk back to start).

Timing

All competitors will be sent a race information booklet, race number and timing chip. These will be posted together early in the new year. The timing chip will record individual start and finish times.

Medals

Special cased commemorative medal to all finishers.

Prizes

No runner will be awarded more than one individual prize. Trophies and prizes will be presented to the following:

• Men - 1st 10 finishers, 1^st 3 Vet 40, Vet 45 finishers, 1^st 2 Vet 50, Vet 55 finishers, 1^st Vet 60, Vet 65, Vet 70 finishers, 1^st junior, 1^st local – Mike Frane Trophy.
• Ladies - 1st 3 finishers, 1^st 3 Vet 35 finishers, 1^st 2 Vet 40, Vet 45, Vet 50, Vet 55 finishers, 1^st Vet 60 finisher, 1^st junior, 1^st local
• First Mens Team – 4 to count
• First Ladies Team – 3 to count
• £500 to winner of the mens & ladies race
• £125 to winner of the mens & ladies veterans category
• £250 each for new ladies and mens course records.

Running tops

Helsby Half running tops are available. These are quality, technical Ts and a great souvenir of the race.

Online ordering has now closed but there'll be long and short-sleeved shirts for sale on the day. Come and see us merchandising/Helsby RC club tent where a number of race souvenirs are available. We'll also be on hand with information on Helsby Running Club — we're always on the look out for new runners!

Eligibility

Minimum age 17 years on race day.

Please note runners not past the 10 mile marker by 1:30 pm will not be given a time and marshals cannot be guaranteed to be on the course.
